What does capacity building look like on the ground?

The Advocate Bethany Community Health Fund ((also known as the Bethany Fund) is a philanthropic arm of Advocate Health Care and was created as part of Advocate's ongoing commitment to support existing community organizations as they build, promote and sustain healthy communities on the West Side of Chicago. In 2016, the Bethany Fund invested in five unique capacity building projects requested by grantees.  Millennia provided consultation and technical assistance for each project, a set of initiatives which were quite varied in focus and scope. We developed a program evaluation framework with the Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance, provided hands-on fundraising expertise for Casa Central and the Academy for Scholastic Achievement. The Pedro Albizu Campos Puerto Rican High School engaged in operational planning and West Town Bikes asked for some initial facility planning research.
