Steinmetz High School gets a school-based health center

On September 28, 2106 PCC Wellness Center (PCC), a Federally Qualified Health Center serving the West Side of Chicago and near west suburbs, hosted the grand opening of its community school based health center at Steinmetz College Prep High School. PCC Community Wellness Center at Steinmetz includes five exam rooms, a laboratory, an education room, a behavioral health room and 2 patient waiting areas and provides access to comprehensive primary care and behavioral health services to residents of the Belmont-Cragin, Dunning, and Montclare communities as well as Steinmetz high school students.

The opening of this community school based health center grew out of a three-year planning process, illustrating the commitment and passion of PCC, the school and its community partners.
Millennia consultant, Brenda Bannor, facilitated the planning committee that made this facility a reality.  Brenda, an advocate for school-based health centers for over 20 years, has helped launch over 15 school health centers across Illinois.
