Millennia Consulting
Executive Directors' Learning Circle

ali sancomb jensen ramsey For over ten years, Millennia consultants have facilitated “Learning Circles” that bring experienced nonprofit executive directors, managers, administrators, or program directors together for a six-month period to reflect on their work. Each month when the Learning Circle meets, members raise critical leadership or organizational questions, and discuss them with colleagues.  For two years, Millennia has convened a Learning Circle of seven west Chicago suburban executive directors.  The group of highly experienced executives first met monthly for seven months, then every other month for an additional 12 meetings. Over time, the group has developed a high degree of internal trust and inter-personal support, leading to a number of new cooperative arrangements among the member nonprofits. This Circle is funded by the Community Memorial Foundation as a pilot program under the foundation's Building Organizational Effectiveness Initiative.  In January of this year Millennia launched the New Year by convening two new Learning Circles comprised of nonprofit executives: a Southside arts administrators group supported by the Southside Arts and Humanities Network, and a group of directors of national, state, or city-wide coalitions.
